Achieving peace of mind and focussing on bigger picture

Life is filled with so many things.
There are so many things happening around us. Some are planned, some are unplanned. Some are in our control, and some beyond our control. Some would give us happiness, while some would cause disappointments.
So with so much of activity happening in this fast paced world we live in today – what can we do to cope with it better?
One of the most important thing would be to never lose focus of the bigger picture.
Only you can decide what the bigger picture is for you and your family.
What the bigger picture is for you, will mainly depend on your interests, passions and preferences.
For some people, having a comfortable life with family, without any worries might be the bigger picture.
For some, the bigger picture might be to do something they are passionate about; like developing expertise in music, creating own music album, and teaching / sharing these skills with others.
Some people might be interested in pursuing a career in cooking.
Once you know what the bigger picture is, you can focus your energy towards it in order to make it a reality.
And in this bigger scheme of things, the management of trivial, silly things is important – so that you do not have any distractions, and unnecessarily lose focus.
In spite of many things being silly, more often than not, they end up creating disappointments and unhappiness.
And in this process we lose our peace of mind.
And without peace of mind, it is harder to focus on our bigger picture.
Our energies are wasted in things that will not create any value.
Why worry about something, that is not going to have an impact on your bigger picture?
All these little, silly things will come and go.
As long as you are on your journey to accomplish your bigger picture, you do not have to worry too much.
The journey is so much easier, when you know where your destination is, and you take steps to progress towards your destination.
Also the importance of a peaceful mind cannot be ignored.
Everyone would have a more or less different style / approach when it comes to achieving peace of mind.
Many people are okay with the fact, that they may have to sacrifice something, sometimes in order to maintain a peaceful and happy environment around them.
Would you be willing to sacrifice something, in order to get peace of mind?
Knowingly or unknowingly, we all do it to some extent.
After all, having peace of mind is the best way to have a healthy mind and a healthy body.
And it also helps in being more happy.
What you sacrifice / let go off, can vary. It could be money, your time, your opinion/ likes, etc.
If it is for the greater good – which is the bigger picture, then in the end it will be all worth it.
For many of us, going on holidays is a good way to de-stress, and recharge some energies.
And we do end up spending quite a bit of money while on holidays.
When we spend money on holidays, there is a feeling of spending the money on something tangible.
But would you part with some of our money if there is no tangible benefit.
For eg:- would you part with some of your money, in case of argument with someone close to you – maybe your family members or relatives?
It might not be an easy decision in these instances.
Think about the bigger picture – and it will help you take a more wiser decision.
There are no right or wrong answers.
Everybody’s situation is different.
Just make sure that whatever you do does not have too much of an impact on your bigger picture.
Because in the end, what would matter the most to you, and what would keep you and your family happy is the bigger picture
